Remember quite a few such run-throughs on the L&N, but doubt there was any new ballast put down on that line around this time. No real landmarks to help me out. Description:  In the Fall of 86 I stumbled upon a string of SD40s in the MoPac/UP Chouteau Ave yard in Sy. Louis. For years I had assumed that they were bound for either re-sale or a more inglorious fate. Such was not the case, however, for ICG 6002. It would be re-built to an SD40-2R and continue to pPy the rails in IC black for another 20+ years. .
